Back Up Solution

Hi Guys

I need some useful tips and tried and trusted recommendations on backup solutions

a) Hardware is not a big deal, I think in the market I can get a good external harddisk of 20 or 40 GB USB based. still recommendations welcome

b) What I am really interested to find out is

the software solution I mean ok I have a usb connected external harddisk but I do not want to copy same files over and over during each backup, what I am looking for is a smart software which will backup only the modified or newly created files from the previous backup point.

Last week had a OS crash still restoring my PC to it's original state. It is time wasting....

Anyways I think it is time for me to have a sophisticated backup solution. I am not really looking for a "free" solution (would love to find out about them though but I am done with free stuff, usually such s/w have limitations) but should not cost too much either, may be around 200 USD including hardware and software.

Moderators pls help. What backup solutions do you guys at JODO use?

We have used the server edition of Acronis True image with varying degrees of success, it is VERY hardware specific, it is a great solution if it works with your hardware.
www.acronis.com

I'd give it a shot first. If that does not work there are some neat backup solutions based on rsync that do incrementals updating only files that have changed as well.

BTW, we used the 8.0 version, the 9.1 looks SWEET and we will be testing it soon, hoping it works with more hardware.

Thanks Stephen, will look into acronis.com Never heard of them though.

Basically I need a solution for couple of imp PCs running on WINXP, mainly official data, client data,
