Summary Disk Usage, Yes or No?

We plan to introduce summary disk usage in the coming weeks. With SDU, all your three separate space allocations are dropped (Email, Database, Web Space) for one single allocation (called disk space). You can now use your disk space across our servers as you want. So if you are a heavy database user, you won't be stuck witrh just 10MB of space. You can use as much space as you want, under your disk space quota

Here are the advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages
  1. Create Unlimited Mail Boxes and Mail Space under your disk Space quote
  2. Create Unlimited SQL databases and SQL Space under your Disk Space Quota
Disadvantages
    1. Unlimited domain scheme would be dropped for a limit domain scheme. Additional domains would cost you.
I'd like to know whether you would or would not prefer the SDU system to be introduced

Definately! I'm one of those heavy database users where their whole site is run off of a single SQL database. I hope you change it soon!

Err... by additional domains you mean domain aliases? Or I'm wrong? Sorry for stupid question :)

But the idea is good, I definitely vote for it :)

I'm just 2 days into my trial period and, therefore, feel a bit sheepish about spouting my opinion regarding any aspect of your services. But I thought you might find the thoughts of a potential customer interesting.

Although the idea of using the total disk space allowed in whatever way the site dictates (db, mail, etc.) is really appealing, multiple domains for a single low price is one of the features that brought me here. I think there are many people who, like me, have several sites that use low to moderate disk space and bandwith. The thing that appeals to me the most about jodohost is that I could host several low-use sites under one simple, inexpensive account, instead of having to buy extra domains, multiple single domain plans, or a single multi-domain plan for a significantly higher cost.

I suppose my vote would depend on how much you plan to charge for the extra domains. If it is the standard $5 that most hosts charge, I would have to say no and sadly resume my search for a host where I can run several low-use sites at a price that makes it worthwhile (what jodohost offers me now). But I will reserve my vote (and my host search) until I hear more details.

I hope you don't mind me putting in my 2 cents, since that's all you have recieved from me so far. :]

forgot to mention. the Summary Disk usage idea has been put to rest as of now. The main reason is that it can lead to excessive load on our database servers (because as it seems, MS SQL is very popular)

riley,
If we do ever implement SDU, you would still be able to host as many domains for free as you are able to host in the current scheme. In the current scheme, you need at least one mail box per domain. So if you plan to have 2 mail boxes per domain, you will end up with only being able to host 10 domains (in the basic package) . We planned to give those many domains for free, if we implement SDU
