DSPAM and the "Whitelist"

I have a client saying that some of the email she is being sent, is being marked as spam by DSPAM and being returned to the sender. The emails I saw are "fun" ones, forwards of jokes and stuff, so DSPAM could reasonably be thinking they are spam.

If my client enters their addresses in the "Whitelist" under antispam setting in the CP, will that tell DSPAM to let them through? i.e. are the whitelist and blacklist in the CP connected to DSPAM?

dspam just add a few extra headers that is almost an invisible to anyone. Anti-spam (spamassassin) sitting on the mail-server reads the headers and call it spam or good, based on overall rating including the headers added by dspam. This anti-spam also understands whitelist/blacklist that you set in control panel, so yes the emails wont be tagged as spam if the sender is whitelisted, even when dspam thinks of it as spam.
