Reseller CP alias

You do it from the reseller admin, it will have "Add DNS Zone" down at the bottom, you are not seeing this?

Yes, I'm doing it from the Administrative account. I've added a new zone, but the Reseller CP alias doesn't appear.

Only one service domain can be used for server aliases. If you delete all current, you can change them to the new domain. Or for new servers that we add you can just use your new service domain. Lastly, no, Hsphere cp wont run on multiple URL for you.

I want to change my service domain.
My current domain is For eg mycurrentdomain.com and nameservers: ns.m****here.biz -> alias --> ns1.mycurrentdomain.com etc etc,

I want to change to mynewdomain.com

Is it possible to add mynewdomain.com and run both domains as alias's as an interim with hsphere 3.0 until my customers have updated their nameservers to ensure a smooth transition?

Im bit fearful of making changes without some help and advice on how to best do this first.

I don't recommend changing, it is among the hardest tasks and fails even with the highest supervision and control many times.

Ok, thanx Stephen, there must be a way to change my hosting domain without service interuption...eg runing two service domains or alias's?

I thought maybe:
ns1.mycurrentdomain.com
ns2.mycurrentdomain.com
ns3.mycurrentdomain.com
ns4.mycurrentdomain.com

++

ns5.mynewdomain.com
ns6.mynewdomain.com

or something like that....its confusing because i'm reading similar posts on this forum...some say...yes add new dns zone, other say no....

following up....
I may have a buyer for my small reseller biz.
My domain is country specific ".com.au" and as such cannot be "resold" as its illegal and only au residents/business's may use .com.au.

the buyer would need to replace my domain with thier own .com domain.

How can it be done.....i'd be willing to purchase a second reseller account and setup with the "new" domain if there was some way to do a transfer.
I understand there would be a certain amount of downtime between resolving clients domains to new nameservers.

Is there some way of changing reseller cp domain with least pain to the clients?

Service domain change at Hsphere level is not possible unless the reseller account is empty. Best way is to upload all data over to the new account over a period of time. The issue is that Hsphere relies heavily on your service domain for DNS records of the client domains hosted under your reseller account.

I have placed ticket LOU-12595-399
I really need to do this, i have asked in ticket to what extent can jodohost help. Like possibility of transferring accounts/databases etc.

Hi CCA,
Sorry for my late reply on this thread, but I did in fact the same as you did. I had an service-domainname, which I had to give up. I changed to a new service domain.

I had my troubles, and until now I still have some issues with DNS from time to time, but at least it works.

I run litehost with a couple of accounts (7 or something), and I did the job without any manual transfer actions from jodo staff. In fact I did not submit any ticket for it, as it's not supported.

My accounts run win/unix servers, with MSSQL databases. Not any transfer was needed. All original accounts are stil there.

Best regards,
Jan-Pieter
