DNS error on lots of sites

Hi,

We have loads of sites saying no access to website and emails ticket #IMU-89856-707

Maybe something to do with DNS as they are working fine at our office but that is invariably slow at picking up DNS changes whereas the iPad here on 3g which picks up DNS changes quickly cant find any of the sites either

Hi Akshaay --- something to do with nameservers of similar on jodoshared.com? I cannot do a traceroute or anything to the affected websites as DNS entries look like they are literally wiped off the map

There was an issue in the UK with a/some ISP routing only, even some VPS clients claimed we were down, and their DNS is on their own servers, not our shared dns.

We did not have any outage of DNS or servers except the one node with win6/9/10/11as noted on the status forum.

I checked several times during this time they claimed it was down on just-ping.com (one you do that click the watchmouse link and get HTTP testing) and also on http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ (also www.isup.me)

Hi Stephen. How accurate is 'http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ ' because it's been several hours since the problems were fixed (my main site is on win9), and whilst I can now see it from my location in France, and can view it through anonymouse.org, downforeveryoneorjustme.com tells me I'm down. I've tested it with a lot of sites, including my other websites on my reseller account, but my main website reads as down, which is confusing.

And just as I post that, I've tested the domain again for the sixth time, and now it reads as being up, so I think I'm probably more confused than before now! lol. And no, I didn't misspell the domain, so I don't know what's going on there.

that is weird, should not be down(nothing should be). I can't claim it is accurate or anything I just see it used often and put up as a resource, but you can certainly check using multiple sources, that is why I mentioned just-ping and the watchmouse service in the link when you ping your site as well, it checks from multiple locations.

you can also do an alertra.com spot check, and I forgot about this initially, it is very nice because if it is down you can click the down sensor and tell if it is down due to their maintenance, or if it had a dns error, or other issue as well.
