From reading some of the other posts and experiencing this myself, I believe it is necessary for support to manually grant you DBO in order to avoid this. As you said, I found them to be very responsive and cooperative about this, too.

I think you'll have to turn off the catch-all feature. Select the mailbox that gets all that mail and the first option is "Catch All". To the right of that, clear the check box and then go to the bottom and click Submit.

Looking through some other posts here and elsewhere, my guess would be that Jmail is not properly installed on the web server. If you haven't already, you should open up a trouble ticket regarding this in your control panel.
