I just edited the machine.config, this is a known error in the 1.1 versions of asp.net, I thought it had been fixed but obviosuly it has not, I changed the config so that ASP.NET can not use over 2GB(it throw an error if it goes over 2GB) of ram before having to recycle itself now.
Monitoring it closely,it is running at about 12-15% cpu average now, and ram is about 50%, in good shape now.

I appreciate the stats, but I think the issue is that a number of us are actively detecting a problem of some sort indicating there is definitely an issue. Now if we can detect a problem, then I am sure our clients can as well.
I see that Steven has found the probable culprit.
Thank you both for investigating and not just passing it off as a busy site every now and again. We know that on shared servers there may be issues, but a continual one throughout the day definitely signifies a possible problem and hopefully what has been found will do the trick!

I am still seeing about 2 to 4 times a day that my site fails to load on win10. It is random in regards to when it happens.
I am checking the site 1 every 10 minutes with monitoring software and if it detects a failure it will try 3 more times before reporting an error.
By the time I see the error, get to my test computer and then try and hit the site it is going properly again.
Is anyone else noticing any problems at all with Win10. FYI: This is a DotNetNuke site I am dealing with.

I pulled up a 48 hour ASP & ASPX report for Win10. There has been only 1 instant where the server took more than 20 seconds to respond (timeout or downtime, whatever you may want to call it). This timeout lasted for about 5 seconds.
99.9% means you can expect about 45 minutes of outage per month. Win10 is maintaining well above that so far.

And hopefully a chunk of that 45 minutes is normal maintenance stuff which we all know must take place.
- I thought I read a post that said one of the servers had several sites that was putting a big hit on the servers for a short period of time… and if it continued Jodo would directed them to a dedicated solution… that wasn’t on win10 was it?
Also I had asked a question earlier in this post and was still curious about it… here it is:
- What determines what server a domain gets setup on? Is it at the domain level or is it at the reseller’s client level? Say I have a client now that has domains on win10. When they create more domains will they always go to win10 or can they go to another servers?

It happened again… here is the error that shows up on the site… the same one listed earlier in the post:
A critical error has occurred.
Exception of type System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown.
It only seems to last 10 to 30 seconds. I am concerned there may still be some memory issues on WIN10 based on the error I am getting.
The error above is the one that shows up everytime I have seen it happen.

Happening aqain. Remember I am only checking once every 10 minutes, so I wonder if it is happening more often when i am not catching it.
We’re looking into the same. The ASPX page we have setup isn’t generating this error. Hence it seems to be more isolated in your application pool rather than affecting the entire server.
Can you PM me the URL/site affected so I can set it up to be monitored and investigated

This time it lasted several minutes… and finally the error quit happening, but from the looks of it… it will be back.
Please PM me.. I’ll look into it right away and stop it from happening. I haven;t detected the issue in the few sites I have checked.
I have a DNN site on win10. I use http://www.siteuptime.com/ for my monitoring and for the month of August it shows 99.8% uptime and for September it shows 99.6% uptime. I am not seeing the problems you are seeing.

How often does yours check? Mine is checking once every 10 minutes and out of the whole day it happens 2 to 4 times.
I just don’t know if the timing of problems may correlate to when your monitoring checks. It doesn’t happen very often, but I do get the error about memory which makes me wonder if there is a memory issue. It’s not like I just think it is down, I actually see the error and it is there anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute… and then goes away.
Hopefully Yash will find a possible problem.

I am back now, I have an asp.net script that checks every single minute, it detects systemwide problems, if one sie is having an isue with .net, I would check your child portal error log,sit probably has a dll/module problem cuasing the error, as the outofmemroy exception on the whole system takes asp.net on a global basis, not jsut one site.
