Adult Content (no images)

Hi, I have come up with a site idea and I need to know if it will be allowed to be hosted on Jodos servers.

It has adult content, but there will be NO pornographic IMAGES used. In a nutshell, it will be a site of text stories that will be adult/sexual in nature, but again, will not use any images. The only images that would be used are for the header (but tastefully done) and small icons here and there for page elements.

There would be a warning prior to entering the site that the contents of the site are for an adult audience and that if you are under the age of 18, that you may not enter. By entering, you waive any responsibility on me or the host for the information you retain. Also, the site would be based on anonymous entries, so identities will not be exposed, nor peoples email addresses, etc... All anonymous.

I emailed the legal department but probably won't get a response until monday. I was hoping someone could tell me via this form to at least prepare me for what I might hear on monday.

Again, no pornographic images will be used.

Thanks
Bryan

Cmon Yash, you gotta have an answer.

Your legal department hasn't gotten back to me yet, and its been about a week

hahah :) yes I have. However, an official response would still be appreciated.

If someone emailed me asking if I would do business with them, and they mentioned that they business did X, Y, Z, but I didn't associate with people that did X, Y, Z, then I would email them back and explain why I can't do business with them.

I am guessing Jodohost is on a bubble on this one.

Like I said, the site would contain no images at all, and if there were any advertising links (often times adult advertising links contains images), I would make sure they did not reveal anything, but mostly this would be a site with a bunch of textual stories. Thats it.

You know how legal dept. works. We will give you an official response by tomorrow.

hmmm - legal issues aside, pics or no pics, don't adult sites put us all at risk - ie - aren't there reasons why people offer adult hosting and charge much more for it?

i would guess they require more resources than the average website, and much more likely to get IP's blacklisted etc. I wouldn't like to think any adult site is being hosted on the same shared server that I am on for fear of it affecting my websites performance/availability etc... am I wrong?

Basically its the bandwidth due to pictures why our policy was framed

A decision will be taken by tomorrow and our AUP will clarify this also

LegalAlien, there would be no performance issues as such nor can I forsee any factor that would affect other customers. Pictures are different

However we would like to maintain a general uniform policy that states that any content that cannot be viewed by persons under the age of 18 is not permitted. At least that would be my view on this issue. We'd like to maintain a clean and healthy network. That could prevent many attempts to hack us or attack us.

Just recently, we had a terrorist site discovered on Win6. We got phone calls from the US attorney's office. We believe that was a target of the recent DDOS attacks.

Bryan, you'll get an email from us soon regarding clarification on this.

Hi,

I sent a reply a while back but thought i would post here.

Thank you very much for your reply and I completely understand

Off topic a little, and you probably can't/won't answer this, but do you happen to know of a host that uses coldfusion and may accept a site that I had described (same thing, no pictures)???

Just to provide an example as to a site similar to what I had in mind its called www.grouphug.us . Basically anonymous thoughts by random users with no information collected about them. Not trying to change your mind, just showing you an example of what would have been similar to my site.
