AOL Forwarding

It has come to our notice that a number of customers have setup up their JodoHost email accounts to automatically forward all incoming email to their AOL email accounts. As a result of this, any spam coming into your JodoHost email account is being routed to your AOL email account via our mail server. AOL has been flagging all this spam coming into their network as coming from our mail server and has been sending repeated complaints to us and our upstream ISP, even through our mail server isn't the original source for that spam.

At the moment, we are totally helpless in this situation as AOL is continuing to issue complaints against us even though we have explained them the situation. As a result, we are asking all our customers and resellers to cooperate with us and disable forwarding of mail to AOL accounts. If we receive AOL complaints of spam going into your AOL mailbox from your JodoHost email account, we'd be forced to deactivate this forwarding ourselves for your account.

It is absolutely imperative that we stop the complaints from coming in as AOL is threatening to blacklist mail from our server. We hope our customers and resellers understand the situation here and be cooperate with us

To update our customers/resellers using email forwarding to AOL accounts on this issue, it appears that when spam comes into your AOL account after being forwarded from your JodoHost account, some customers are reporting this to AOL as SPAM. AOL then incorrectly analyses the headers and points to our mail server as the source of spam

If want to continue with AOL forwarding, we do request that you do NOT report any email coming into your AOL account as spam and instead add all email addresses you wish to block for spamming, to your blacklist from the JodoHost control panel

Additionally, the "Very Aggressive" filter level for SPAM protection in the control panel does not work due to a bug in HSphere. This is a reason why some customers continue to get large amounts of spam. To correct this issue, you are requested to change your filter Level to Aggressive

With these precautions, customers that need to forward email to their AOL accounts from their JodoHost email accounts can continue to do so. If you complain to AOL about spam that has been forwarded to you via your JodoHost email account, AOL will simply complain to our ISP Level3 believing we are the source of SPAM. We request you not do this. If we receive many complaints from your account in regards to this situation, we'd be forced to disable email forwarding altogether for your account.

We hope our customers and resellers cooperate with us.
