Downtime Alert: mssql3.jodohost.com

mssql3.jodohost.com was restarted earlier today but failed to come back from that. We tried a manual restart but that didn't work either. Since we use RAID1 configuration, we tried changing drives but it looks as if the OS has been corrupted. We have tape backups of mssql3 but this may take some time to recover. All our system administrators are working overtime with our data center and on our servers to get mssql3 up again.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Further updates will be posted here

Our Windows administrator was able to reload Windows 2000 on the server and attempted to reboot it. Now that we are able to diagnose the problem, it is a memory slot failure on the motherboard itself.
Since it is a national holiday in the US our distributor here locally is closed and so are any other sources for computer servers or motherboards.
We are having a new server sent from our Datacenter in Pennsylvania and expect it to arrive by 10:00 am Saturday morning CST at the datacenter. The drives will then be loaded on the new machine and the server brought back online. This problem was totally unexpected because this server was less than a month old. Many of our affected customers have put a notice on their website informing their site users about their backend database problem. It is advised that any customer who hasn't done this to do this as well as to avoid any frustrated visitors trying to use your website.

We created a temporary fix for the problem with the MS SQL 3 server. It is up and running and all customer databases as well.
We are going to have to bring down the server Sunday night and correct the problems with the OS and this is going to take a several hours because even though the server is up and running the OS is encountering problems and may crash at anytime but we wanted to get the sites affected back up if we could.
The hardware problems corrupted some of the OS but the databases are intact.
Existing customers are requested not to create new databases till Monday. New signups have been turned off for that machine until we correct the problem.
