envelope sender /badmailfrom. How does it happen?

'554 Sorry, your envelope sender is in my badmailfrom list
>>>>> (#5.7.1)' mail.xxxxxx.com SMTP server Error: 0x800ccc79

Hi people,

How does one mailbox end up in the badmailfrom list?
Anything typical? that causes that?

In this case, this client has mail2 configured on another network...so that can send from that too. I cannot see how that could influence...but...anyway decided to post this info.

Any ideas what causes that?
Thanks

It means they sent more emails than allowed by spamguard in 24 hours, you will need to have the mass-mailing form signed and sent in already, and request it be put on the ignore list, or sign and request.

Mail2 is not a valid server to use, it will miss many emails as it is just a backup server, mail only goes to it when mail is down. Please don't use mail2.

And what's exactly "put on the ignore list, or sign and request"?
