how to attach database with out .ld and .mdf

Hi all,

can you please let me know how to attach the dtabase with out mdf and ldf files.When i took the back up of a database it will be stored in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup. and when i went to teh below path :path C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data there is no .mdf and .ldf files.

Can i attach the database with .bak file. please let me know any sugesstions ,
ASAP.

Please don´t PM a message similar to a first posting in a new thread. That´s not what it´s for. How many other people did you PM? I don´t use MSSQL or, Windows for that matter, so can´t help you.
 
It is best to have a DB create then do a restore from the BAK and change the paths to the new DB path then update the schema to match
