Major Internet outage??

Anyone else seeing any outages to large portions of the net just in the last few minutes?

We cannot connect to any of our sites or even Jodohost without using a proxy server. Also cannot hit major sites like CNN either.

Hypespins is reporting most tests ok, expect for from two server that are getting no replies. Looks like somehting big went down maybe??

Here is a ping tests result to Jodohost:

ouch, does look like something. How are you posting here? A proxy?

I am not seeing anything on sites like internetpulse.com but they do not monitor telus which looks to be where the problem is.

seems like hyperspin may know of the issue, or not able to communicate t their own server so itis displaying that message. I will check webhostingtalk.com which sometimes has outage alerts before even the providers do.

Yes using a proxy to get here, cannot connect directly. Some sites are fine but other portions of the net are totally dead it seems. I don't see any reported outages but this seems lik a big one. Was fine probably 15 mins or so ago, was on our site then all of a sudden it just died.

I can't seem to find anythign either but cannot connect to CNN, Engadget, Internetpulse, just to name a few big sites.

Very odd..

Forced a new IP from my ISP and now it is fine but others on ISP having simialr issues and som not. Looks like they have some IP blocks messed up or perhaps being blocked.

Also heard this from another user that admins servers in the NY area - "there is a routing issue with Telia and Savvis in NY" which has apparently been since corrected or being worked on.

they could be forcing a re-route around the problem when you renew the address, by getting a different gateway :)

Starting to hear that the problem may be more widespread - "Actually, this seems to be a major widespread issue...

Savvis, Telia, Hurricane Electric & Level3 are ALL having problems"
