We will upgrade all our MySQL 4.0 servers to MySQL 5.1 on Friday, 14 January 2011, 22:30 CST ( UTC - 6 ).
Prefix of servers to be upgraded are:
mysql
mysql2
mysql3
mysql4
mysql5
mysql6
While this may appear to be a huge version upgrade, we would like to mention that MySQL 4.x series has been EOLed for some time now.
As a benefit, this upgrade will allow users of above DB servers access to features like views, stored procedures, functions and triggers.
If you are on a MySQL server which is not listed above, you already have access to these features.
The process may take up to some hours to complete, however it would cause service unavailability intermittently for up to 30 minutes. Service may respond slow while this upgrade is in progress.
To know if you are using MySQL server to be upgraded, please follow below steps:
1. Login to your hosting control panel. Resellers need to login to their end user hosting control panels.
2. Select MySQL DBs in the Databases menu.
3. Here next to 'Host Name' label, if you see the server name starting with prefix listed above, your account is part of this upgrade.
For example, if it shows 'mysql2.jodoshared.com' (listed above) it means you are part of this upgrade. However if it shows 'mysql9.jodoshared.com' (not listed above) you can ignore this upgrade notice.
For reseller, instead of 'jodoshared.com', it will be 'm****here.biz' or your service domain.
