Win21 Scheduled Migration

Starting Time: 10PM EDT(GMT-4)
Date: Friday, January 29
Reason: Upgrade hardware and preventative migration due to past RAID problems

We will begin migrating win21 to a new hardware (Win33) platform on Friday January 29th at 10PM. We will utilize Hsphere user migration tools to migrate all users individually, we will continue processing the moves until completed, this will likely be Monday morning early, but could vary. We will move SSL certificate settings before they go live on the new server.

Windows 2003 SP2
Intel Dual 2.8Ghz
4GB RAM
500GB RAID1 HD Array

If you see any issue or downtime in your website, please send us ticket immediately and mention win21 on subject. Our support team will handle these tickets on priority.
While the move is in progress the sites will work on both servers, and after 24 hours all DNS should be pointing to the new server, with all sites and services up on the new server.
We will make all efforts to export any SSL Certificates that you may have installed, but they may require a manual re-installation if the export does not succeed.
We look forward to providing you with excellent service during this migration and if you have any questions feel free to ask via ticket.
IMPORTANT : How to check if my account is on win21
1. Open Hsphere Control Panel.
2. Go to "FTP User/Account -> FTP User"
3. check here Server Name.
If still have any query then please contact us via ticket.

Note also:

1. Control panel will not allow certain actions during this process.
2. This is a webserver only move. There will be no change in mail or DB services.
3. The new FTP hostname will be win33.m****here.biz. For resellers it will be win33.<your-service-domain.tld>.

We are completing the pre user migration backup right now, before we start the migration process for any users.

We started moving users about 2 hours ago, a couple moved now, but we are starting to move batches of users more often now.

Progress is going steady, quite a few sites getting live traffic on win33 server now (can see in logs etc), there are still most on win21 at this point, and suspended accounts are being skipped over entirely for now (hsphere hangs on them)

Overall the migrations are going quite well, a few with shared ssl are stuck, and a few having some odd things like supposedly 'coldfusion dsn' enabled that are hanging up their moves. when we encounter this we are skipping past it for now and will come back to it. By stuck, we mean the migration scripts are hung, the sites are still up on the win21 server.
There has been a case of SSL install not working properly over to win33, which we got fixed up with a ticket, so if you have any issue, feel free to report it and we will check, put Win21 migration in the subject line as well for best results and sorting purposes.

Just a morning update, still moving on along! Some accounts take 5 min to move, and some with more content take hours :)

Still progressing along, it looks like it is going to go beyond tomorrow morning, but we are doing it user per user so it is well controlled.

We have a only a good handful of moves left, then we can focus on the moves that are hung or seem stuck in processing.

After this we will be sending a letter out to those with suspended accounts for what we need to proceed, some have been suspended for a very long time and probably just need to be removed, which we will recommend for some of them.

More technically
A-Z are done or in state of transfer hung (if username began with CAPITAL letter.)
a-u are done or in state of transfer hung (and with regard to both, many more successful than hung, just noting for those that may have on hung and unable to change web settings in their control panel)

Update to above, A-Z and a-z done, (no accounts started with numbers on this server). We have done a test run to unlock one that was hung and it worked, moving on to others hung now and getting them moving again.

We have the issue with shared ssl, and cf dsn resolved, but we are not going to continue migrating at the moment. We will wait until tonight to proceed any further.

This will give us time to resolve a few issues that clients are sending tickets about, and then tonight about 10PM we will continue the migrations.

there are about 6 accounts right now that are still transferring data from the last group of hung accounts that we got fixed to continue migration, they will continue but we will not start additional back again until tonight.

there are just a couple migrations remaining which Hsphere is not wanting to move because it thinks they have CF DSNs, and we have corrected that, but will now need to change a couple things, and restart win33 before we can continue migrating these last few. It will be done at 9PM EST.
