NAP Of Americas Discussion

It will be better, as the peering and almost every connection in Miami comes to/from NAP.

Sounds good Stephen! Heya cca! AU servers? Is there a thread about that somewhere? I'd be interested in seeing the pricing... yay! :)

We have done some tests with the spare servers, no to the backups, the sites are on the same servers in the new datacenter, since we will just take them out of the rack and move them the few blocks.

It will be 2 GigE Internap connections, 1 Cogent, 1 Tristar to start, and more will come later.

Our bandwidth is going to be served mainly by InterNap now. Currently its being served mainly by LimeLight. LimeLight will remain in the mix

InterNap is one of the more expensive carriers and we'll be paying a premium for their bandwidth. The other providers are there for redundancy but will also be serving a small fraction of our bandwidth.

Sound bad for me!

I cant load napoftheamerica.net request time out.
It's very slow 5 minute for done nap's first page!!

but my current website hosted at jodo not found any problem and excellent.

If you plan to move to NAP this is not good for me and my customer..

Thank you.

The napoftheamericas.net website is not using the internap and other bandwidth providers that are in their own building.

glad to hear this because tracert show 500ms with many *** to napoftheamericas.net from Asia here

I am getting 300ms from India, the same as the current datacenter.

Also please note that our bandwidth is going to be served by InterNap and other providers, not the same providers that may be supplying bandwidth to NapOftheAmericas's website.

Response time can only improve

Good to know this, I am already pleased with jodohost services and speed, so this can't be better.

But, why not on the weekend ? Moves like this size are always scheduled for weekends. On same hour on sunday would be perfect.
You guys have many international customers and many of us have sites which receive international traffic anyway.
But all the world goes on weekend on the same period of time ;), so that's why a sunday before sunrise would be a perfect time.

It is not possible to do it on the weekend for a number of reasons, but mainly when the month falls, we have analyzed traffic, and this time Wednesday is one of the lowest points of the week.

I applaud the move to the new DC. My only concern is your mention of higher hosting costs to be incured by the company. At some point those costs must be applied to us the customer...

My question therefore is how will those costs be passed on to us the customer, how much of an increase will it be, ...and most importantly...when?

Even if you cannot speak to specifics...Could you give us an idea...

We have not increased our fees since we started our operation, on the other hand, over the period of time, we have added following features:

1. Almost doubled the resources in most plans.

2. Started LiveChat Support.

3. Started Oracle Server.

4. And now, NAP of Americas.

We are continously planning to make our services reliable and dependable. Our business model is pretty solid and tested over last 3 years. We do not forsee any increase in our fees.
