    6 and 12 month prices

I'm confused about the pricing for 6 or 12 months. http://www.jodohost.com/windows.asp I've read the text that the asterisk points to. e.g., for the Value plan. Does that mean $83.95 less 35% which is $54.57 for 12 months?

    Drupal install problems

I installed Drupal a few times at JodoHost and the installation went smoothly except once. I don't recall which server it was but it wasn't recognizing stuff in my .htaccess. I eventually discovered that I could fix it by replacing the tabs in .htaccess with a space. No part of the install took...

    Where is register_globals set?

This may or may not be it but make sure you have one space between php_flag register_globals and Off. Not tabs. I setup a Drupal site at JodoHost and it wasn't recognizing part of .htaccess until I replaced tabs with a space. Even if it looks like a space, delete it and add it back.

Moving an account from reseller to standalone

I think I've asked this before but I can't find it now and I don't remember the exact answer. I have a reseller account where I host for a few clients / friends. I will soon be down to one and I will suggest that he should signup with JodoHost directly. Can an account be moved from under a...

    No .NET pages working

I suspect that your hosting is set to the wrong asp.net version. You probably want it set to version 2. You're supposed to be able to set that in Hsphere but I just looked at a couple of mine which I know are version 2 but the dropdown says version 1. Either the dropdown always defaults to...

    Drupal 6 installation problem

I sent a ticket and it's now fixed. Drupal is working very well. I think it was this: http://drupal.org/node/320532 Another piece of information for anyone installing Drupal at JodoHost, the default .htaccess file needs to be edited to work properly. The php_value settings must have only...

    Drupal 6 installation problem

Hello Is anyone successfully running Drupal 6 on a Linux account at JodoHost? I haven't had much luck. The install first complains about register globals and mbstring. That's fine, I have this in .htaccess to solve that. php_flag register_globals off php_value mbstring.http_input pass...

Web site at JodoHost, DNS elsewhere?

Hello I'm moving a web site to JodoHost. The DNS is at GoDaddy. They use GoDaddy's email service and would prefer that email stays at GoDaddy. I think this means that the DNS needs to stay at GoDaddy since they only do email for "their" domains. It seems like I can make this work by...

Mapping .asp to php on Linux

Thanks Praveen. That works perfectly. I didn't notice that earlier. A note for anyone doing this. It doesn't work immediately, even after hitting the "Apply Changes" link further up the screen. It takes five minutes or so before it works. I think the Apache thread needs to recycle.

Mapping .asp to php on Linux

I'm migrating a classic asp site from another host. I want to move it to Linux and php. There is very little actual asp code that does anything useful so I'd rather go to php on Linux and rewrite a few things. To keep the urls the same for search engines etc, is there a way to map the .asp...

    Joomla - Windows or Linux?

You mean http://www.example.com/somepath ? Thanks but no, that's not going to work. Surely the only way that would get anything other than a 404 without any rewrite software is if there is a directory called somepath with an index.php in it. It's a relatively standard technique as a sort...

    Joomla - Windows or Linux?

To add to this. It appears that Joomla's friendly URLs don't work on JodoHost's Windows servers. I know that there's no way to have mod_rewrite / .htaccess type functionality but I kind of expected the next best thing to work which is this sort of thing...

    Email with Joomla on Windows

Hi all I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I've read some of the other posts on this and I'm still confused as to what the recommended action is. I've installed Joomla 1.5 on a Windows account. It's working well except for mail. I have the Joomla admin settings set to smtp server...

    Full trust?

I haven't tried the Amazon APIs but it looks like a file creation problem. JodoHost seem to be happy to change some of the file system permissions so that DotNetNuke will install and run. I think most of this involves the ability to create and update files below the web root. I suspect...

Does webshell extract gz feature overwrite files?

I usually do that sort of thing by moving it into into a subdirectory, extracting and then copy or move the extracted files. The copy or move overwrites (I think it prompts on the first file) and it's safer if I'm not sure how the file will extract, ie, does it extract into the top level or make...

Mixed Windows and Linux on same domain

Resurrecting an old thread a second time. I must be getting old. I was searching for this and forgot that I asked the same question quite some time ago. :) Is a static IP still the only way to do this? www.example.com on Windows and (same domain) subdomain.example.com on Linux Cheers...

    SMTP Authentication System.Net.Mail???

I know the answer. :) I got the same result as you until I stopped setting UseDefaultCredentials to anything. So ... do not set UseDefaultCredentials. The act of setting it to either true or false makes it ignore the config file. Don't set it in code and don't have a defaultCredentials...

    SMTP Authentication System.Net.Mail???

Well ... I don't know. No promises but I might spend a few minutes tonight trying this from home because it's probably something I want to do myself soon and I'm curious. Please confirm just to be clear ... You get the same problem when you try it locally with Visual Studio trying to...

    SMTP Authentication System.Net.Mail???

Have you tried it with defaultCredentials="false" in the config file? I was looking at this which I think agrees with an MS example I saw. Also, I really don't think you want that UseDefaultCredentials = True. I never bother setting the delivery method either but I think it's network by default.
