I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I've read some of the other posts on this and I'm still confused as to what the recommended action is.
I've installed Joomla 1.5 on a Windows account. It's working well except for mail. I have the Joomla admin settings set to smtp server and using the credentials of a mailbox of the same domain as the site. I can verify that those credentials work by sending through it from home using Outlook Express on port 587.
It worked at first and then I changed the password and it stopped. At first it seemed like it only worked when I set everything back to the original password but now after an hour of frustration it seems more like it just randomly works sometimes and not others.
I've just raised a ticket to get a php.ini added so that I can set some php parameters, mostly to turn of register globals but should I do something for mail?
