alternative to mod_expires

Since you do not have mod_expires enabled for shared hosting, can anyone provide an alternative for setting cache expiration on files to help with site speed?
 
Please send us a support ticket with mention the domain now for which you want it. So we can check and do the needful.
 
I already have a ticket and was told that it cannot be used. It is ticket #123634

The site will continue to get low speed scores because it does not have cache expiration on.
