I'm thinking of developing a site (for an aviation artist) using DNN 4.x. Does anyone have any opinions for or against DNN? I'm not that familiar with it.
DNN is very good software although a little slow the first time you load a page.
In other hand, it is difficult to develop new modules and features. You must be .net expert and DNN expert. If standart modules are enough for you this is a good tool, but if you need to create new modules you would study first if you will can do that.
We recommend DNN for all our web clients -- we have maybe 15ish clients running on DNN 3.x or 4.x right now. Extremely customizable. We find that many people want some of the add-ons that do cost a bit -- some common ones are form creators, slideshows, etc -- these typically run < $50.
Check out www.snowcovered.com to see some easy add-ons.
JODO staff does pretty good helpin with the set-up, as well (permissions).
