Is there any way to setup an option for payment other than cheque or cc? For example if they pay by transfer?

By transfer would still need check-like(cheque-like) details, however it would need the bank information to be displayed as well, and unless properly secured by your banking institution to prevent fraud there could be larger consequences in putting the details for a wire transfer online.

Many banks are not setup in that fashion.
 
I mean transfer just as an example. Isn't there a way to put something else other than cheque or cc? Should I use cheque then? Is there some customizable text for that?
 
No that is a hardcoded option :(

There is check(cheque), CC, Paypal, 2checkout. Cheque can allpy in very general terms as you have to manually credit them anyway, so in the point you apply that credit you can note the real method.
