moving a domain

I have a domain that is currently at another webhost that I want to move to Jodohost. I went into HSphere and went to "other domain name registration and transfer". I already changed the DNS settings at my registrar, but HSphere keeps telling me this "Failed to add Domain mydomain.com
Zone mydomain.com has been taken."


What am I missing here?
 
There could be a very old entry in CP. Please open a ticket with support. They will check and let you know.
 
OK so I have found out what the problem is.
The domain which I have owned since 2001 is under someone else's account.

That should not be, they stated it was added in 2004 but this is my first account with Jodohost....hmm
 
There's nothing suspiciuos about that. As I understand it, any JH customer can use any domain name they like, provided that name has not already been taken on the JH servers. However, have a domain name on a server and being able to use it are two different matters....
 
Yes, true. But this is my domain. I still have it hosted at my old webhost. I am preparing to move it over.
 
Is it possible for Jodohsot to remove domains from other accounts if it is proven that the domain belongs to someone else?
 
Yes it is, do you have an active ticket in now? If so let me know the number and I will try to make some contact with you about the domain.
 
Yes I do have an open ticket. They keep telling me that I cannot create domain that someone else uses. I have explained that it is my domain and that this my first account with JH.

So what would I need to prove to the sales Dept that the domain is mine.?
 
valid whois details and some validation is what we will need, researching it now.
 
I have replied the ticket and need to speak to you about this, please reply and we will work to get resolved ASAP.
