We will be syncing, upgrading, and doing MS SQL Migrations all week in the evening hours. Some of the upgrades and maintenance will be a simple service pack application, others will require full upgrades.

MSSQL7 will be starting tonight with service packs and migration. We will update the thread for others daily before the server maintenance occurs.

MSSQL7 is now upgraded, migrated, live. The way we are doing these migrations is via a clone of the stopped service, so it has a same state intact when it goes live. The SQL Services are required to be stopped to do the updates, so we keep them offline while running the service packs.

MSSQL8 will be undergoing maintenance and migration in the next 5 minutes, and SQL services down while it processes.

MSSQL8 is complete, upgraded, and live now.

MSSQL10 will being a version upgrade soon tonight, and MSSQL13 will undergo upgrade, maintenance, and migration tonight/tomorrow morning. MSSQL11 and MSSQL12 will have version upgrades starting tomorrow evening and the day following into the weekend. MSSQL14/15 will update and migrate on Friday and Saturday nights respectively completing all the cluster1 windows server moves.

MSSQL10 is up and running, but some databases may not be fully upgraded which we are correcting as we see in logs and access attempts failing. If you have a DB on MSSQL10 that isn't working let us know via ticket or live chat and we'll check it out and get running ASAP.

I will mention there are a few that have had issues in their programming since upgrades done, items like ambiguous syntax records in calls to columns that exist on multiple tables, where code is needed to edit and put the tablename.columnname like it should have been made from the start, but some prior versions still worked with the code.

Just a reminder that MSSQL14 will be moving & upgrading tonight, and MSSQL11 will be moving early tomorrow morning but with a complete version upgrade.

MSSQL14 is up and going, the only error coming on the server since the upgrades was also coming before the upgrade regarding one user with a failed login.

MSSQL11 will begin its major full upgrade in the next hour or less, as part of this the server actually changes names since we clone it over and only then do the upgrade, making a rollback possible if such were required.

MSSQL11 is upgrade and running, but some databases may not be fully upgraded which we are correcting as we see in logs and access attempts failing. If you have a DB on MSSQL11 that isn't working let us know via ticket or live chat and we'll check it out and get running ASAP.

MSSQL15 will be starting upgrades, maintenance and migration in the next few minutes, MSSQL12 will follow with a complete upgrade process required. This involves remapping logins etc if there are any errors in the process, and can result in a much longer outage than the process on MSSQL15.
These will be the final shared windows servers to migrate!
