    Hello there,

I have to say I am really rather pleased with my account with jodohost. Considering how often hosting companies go pear-shaped and all the random and unfathomable problems that one can have with computers, jodohost have proved to be realistically reliable and unfailingly polite and helpful when dealing with enquiries. The price of the reseller plans is pretty pleasing too...

But, my question: When .NET v2 and SQL Server 2005 are released in the not-to-distant future, what are the plans for providing these for your clients? Ideally, the current plans would be upgraded to have these features. Even if these features were provided at a slight premium, it would be good if one could upgrade one's account easily, without having to throw away any hosting fees for the old plan that had been paid in advance.

    Many thanks,

There will be more regarding this shortly.

But since you asked, I have a question, would you like to have it on w2k3sp1rc to test it as well?

Many thanks for your reply. I realise it was a bit speculative, as the release dates for these are not set in stone, I was merely interested.

w2k3sp1rc1? Hmmm... It seems pretty stable on my server and I am all for having the latest, most secure version of an OS. However, I can see a strong argument for waiting until it is actually released before entrusting live websites to it. At least if it is installed once it is released it will only require taking the server down once to install it (and there will be no problems with uninstalling the rc1 version).

    Many thanks,

PS. Well done with sorting out the email server. When weird hardware faults occur I am well aware that there can be much grinding and gnashing of teeth, good to know it can be sorted.

David, it would not be done on the production servers. I am thinking more of a cutting edge server for development purposes and to test the "next big thing"

Ah yes, now that seems like a good idea. It would be interesting, at the very least, to see what difference this made to the stablility of the server.

I am in need of the new stuff. Put me down as one who could really use this.

Stephen, I will be also interested in switching to .NET 2 & SQL 2005. Please let me know if you plan to setup "testing environment".

Ok, after the datacenter move I will persue this further since there is growing interest.
