New navigation - Please comment

I working to change the navigation of my site from having all the links at the top (I was getting to many) to the left side.

I'm curious at what others think.

I'll agree on both points - it is easier/clearer to navigate and the colors are a little too harsh.

I saw the darker color as more of a blue than a black, if you're going for red-white-blue coloring in there then you might think about backing off on the intensity a little... perhaps the by using #FF9999 for the red and #99CCFF for the blue.

Just a thought.

Hatton... the colors you gave me were a little too pale for me (if I changed it correctly) new colors .

I will lighten the blue however. There are some nice blues on this page... I will try some of them.

I would get rid of the red completely if I could think of a nice color to use as a header above the blue.

The red lines on the page will go no matter what.

Yikes, yeah there's always a stark difference when you're grabbing a color code out of Photoshop without any perspective and actually putting it on the page.

You get the idea though!
