OPML extension

Is there a way that the server would be able to house a .opml extension for rss feeds? We work with other servers that have this capability and the current servers support .xml. Having the .opml extension viewable for my client is mission critical to their organization. Essentially, they want to house the opml file on the site , let's say www.abc.com/RSS/my.opml and currently this is not functioning.
 
Please forgive me, but I am not a programmer, give us a website and we can build it...Any additional supporting information would be appreciated.
