phpBB - login problems

Hi

I am experiencing this problem.
I log in to forum and it seems to work (no broken page) but does not show my username next to login ie logged [talawa].
If I want to post on the forum I get directed to the login page again, this time it does log me in. This happens for all users, including admin user.

Anyone experienced this problem?

I've experienced this using Firefox on an otherwise working phpBB before, but it could also be that the forum doesn't have appropriate write access to it's database.
No way to tell without more imformation really.
