On September 11th our upstream provider had issues which interrupted our networking connectivity and our services.
Root Cause was determined to be due to spanning tree topology changes instigate by a switchport that was intermittently flapping.
In order to correct the above issue, they will carry out following Upgrade of their network infrastructure:
- Improved Spanning-Tree design.
- Better monitoring, alerting, and logging to predict issues and provide for faster outage resolutions should one occur.
- Link consolidation and auditing to prepare for future core network redesign.
Due to this upgrade there will be some service interruption.
