I don't want to buy rip-off Armani clothes, and I don't care to help people who (try to) sell it.
that said, I am happy to help out other users who host HERE. I know Stephen just pulled the URL off another post for a fraudulent site, but is there a way to prevent people from using us to drive traffic? Maybe put this forum in a customer-only section?

You should see how many I have deleted in that section, this forum is almost not moderated as a whole, except the advertising and website reviews section, and spam.

the thing is, if it is not here they put it in the feedback section, that also has a load of spam posted, we like to keep an open forum.

That being said I think I'd like a spam prevention system automated in some sort, that doesnt penalize the regulars.

hmm, I'm sure there are some vBulletin add-ons for antispam. Will check
But as stephen rightly pointed out, they will spam in any open section.
