Spam Abuse on Mail Server

I'd like to reiterate JodoHost's strong stance against using our mail server for Spamming or unsolicited bulk emailing. If you'd like to bulk email and are not sure whether what you plan to email constitutes a violation of our AUP, it is requested that you clarify this by emailing [email protected]

The last 72 hours has seen our mail server being blatantly abused. At one time, there were over 16,000 emails in the queue causing delays in emails reaching destinations and some being bounced back. This also caused some email components (such as JMAIL) on our win servers to return errors

We worked throughout the night cleaning up the queue and blocking the IPs of customers responsible for this mess. The mail server load has now returned to normal (~ 2000 emails in queue) and emails are being sent and received without any issues. We made severals anti-spam changes to our mail server configuration (including applying a patch just a few minutes ago) that hope to prevent such inconveniences to legitimate email users again.

The customer who we believe abused the server is indirectly hosted on our servers through a reseller. We request resellers to take a strong stand on Spamming with their customers by educating them and warning them regularly through emails or at your site.

I'd also like to clarify that our mail server IP is not blacklisted by any anti-spam group. This has been ensured by our aggressive policy against SPAM and we request our resellers and customers to cooperate - this is to protect you.
