websites down

we have some customers that are saying that is websites are working fine but other times not. We have other issues over mail services. is there any network issue or any other DDOS attack?

ok , but the symptoms were similar to those of the old days: no web loading , no mail in some customers ... then what was?

It sounds like a routing problem with a major carrier out of your country, because there was not even a change from normal traffic levels here.

You can check things like this on alertra.com (quick check) and just-ping.com

I just saw a CC on your ticket traceroute, there was clearly an issue with routes not passing london.

ok, then How do we proceed in a case like this to fix it?
In the case of being in london, it is far outside our network we can't route around, but it may be possible for you to call your ISP and they can work with their providers, as they are closer to the failure than us.

ok. but , at the same time some linux websites was getting errors about can not connect with mysql database server. It is not logical that this was a failure in London because it was a connectivity issue between web server and mysql server in your network

You are connecting two unrelated issues, we DID NOT have a DDOS attack of any sort. There may have been a temp issue that you were getting on a MySQL, in addition it may have been in a different subnet taking a different route, the fact that you got an error shows that it was not down in fact, if it was a DDOS you would not be able to get that.

There was no traffic dropped near to us (in our network or even within 150 miles around), and nothing in our control to fix directly. I am sorry you had an issue connecting but it was NOT US this time. We are not hiding anything and have not hid anything, when there are attacks or outages, we post about it, work to resolve, and are very clear in this, we do not hide things.
