What is Enterprise Manager?

Hey,

I'd like to know little more about Enterprise Manager (what type of db is managed, how...).

Thanks!

Enterprise Manager (without the ASP.net) is also a normal Windows application that comes with MS SQL Server. You could download an evaluation version of MS SQL Server and install the client applications only to manage your MS SQL databases at JodoHost.

The client applications do not expire, so that works perfectly :)

BUT note as subspace would say,

the client tools are under the evaluation licence and part of the evaluation.

and there for exspire with the licence after the trial period so after which point use at your own risk. and please dont hold subspace resonsable if you get bill gates at your door..

:D

I know how to use phpMyAdmin but I am not familiar with Jodo's Enterprise Manager.
Does your Enterprise Manager has as many functions as phpMyAdmin has?
I checked aspenterprisemanager.com, but I am not very sure. ?( ?(

Sorry, Vashishtha, dead link.

Enterprise Manager is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) integrated into Microsoft SQL Server. (MSSQL)

A developer version of MSSQL server can be purchased for as low as US$37.24.

Jodohost has an online MMC for MSSQL called ASP Enterprise Manager which is about 1/10 as powerful as the MMC available with MSSQL dev ed. If you're interested in getting up to speed with MSSQL databases, I'd consider the MSSQL dev ed an essential tool. Not only do you get the full-on MMC, but you can create fully functional databases on your local machine (albeit with limited connectivity).

Hi, can it run at windows Xpro?
If a reseller buy one, can the reseller's customers also use it? Or the reseller's customers have to think about other way to help? ?(

there are lots of free web based tools you and your clients can use. Enterprise Managers is a thick client (ie runs on your machine not through a web browser) and it tons more powerful than any web based management tool including phpmyadmin.

Here's some list of database management tools you can use:
http://www.aspin.com/home/webapps/database
http://www.hotscripts.com/ASP/Scripts_and_Components/Database_Tools/index.html
Thank you...it does very helpful.
