SSL Issue Needs Attention ASAP

I have a support ticket (EMS-27004-926) open and I need for it to be a higher priority.

Long story short (or at least not as long as the full story), support hasn't been able to install the SSL certificate (and all the reissued certificates). Instead of using the hsphere admin, which wasn't working, I got another reissue of the certificate using one of my work servers which is the way I know how to do it. I tested it and all the SSL info is correct so I exported it out as a .pfx file and attached it to that support ticket. This is how the original certificate was installed when we moved our hosting to jodohost.

The reason for urgency though is that we've already lost a weeks worth of sales and cannot afford another weekend of lost sales. Also, every time I submitted a new certificate to be installed, support would take 30-48 hours to respond. We cannot afford to wait that long this time.

Please install the new SSL soon! Thanks!

PS. I tried to use the Live Chat but it's either not working or no one is responding.

Hi upheaval,

How did you make out with this? Something appears to be broken as I am unable to properly install a new certificate as well (something I have done many many times) It appears as if something doesn't work right after the H-Sphere upgrade. It is a cert from GoDaddy..but after I install it..it appears to revert right back to the Shared Certificate that is provided by Jodo (which by the way throws a security error as not being trusted)

I will be putting in a ticket now as well.

That is odd, because shared ssl and dedicated ssl are totally different beast, shared ssl uses a subdomain(which doesn't give said error)

Hi Stephen,

Maybe it was the wrong choice of words on my part..and maybe procedurally something has changed for an installation?

However in brief summary this is all I ever needed to do to install a cert.

1. Generate the signing request.
2. At that point a temporary SSL would then already be in place for that domain (which is what I referred to as a shared ssl)..and this is what has thrown security errors similar to this in IE:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.

3. Send the signing request to GoDaddy, Thawte, or whoever

3. They issue the Certificate.

4. Open it with Notepad and copy and paste into the form area (In Control Panel) that says:

"Install Certificate based on previously generated Certificate request "

5. Submit and done

The domain I just did this for is https://damcosmetics.com

and the security error I see is the same I mentioned above.

I have never needed to do anything else...but is it possible that theGoDaddy cert. for some reason is not recognized as being from a trusted authority on the server? If so is there a way that can/should be corrected? Is there something I need to do differently?

Thanks Stephen!

Not seeing a warning on it not being trusted my side, but there is an intermediate cert that godaddy needs also on the server side, most servers already have it by this point however, and if you had godaddy cert before and did not have the error it is certainly already installed(it is a one for all cert, just verifying the certificate authority)

FYI - I'm having the same issue with a new Rapid-SSL certificate. Once installed, it is still trying to use the 'temp cert' generated in the process. I have a ticket in on this already this AM.

We are checking it.

Support did get if working so that is fine - however, force SSL isn't enabling through control panel (which it really hasn't functioned properly for the last couple of SSL installs I've done both pre/post upgrade)

Thanks
G
