hi guys.

i have a mate/prospective client on the horizon

he wants a reseller account (i know that you cant resell reseller accounts) in the current plans

but i have had an idea and woundered if this is true

is the administrator end user account (the admin your accounts) 100% annomonous from what i see there are only M****here and your Server alias shown within the CP

ie

M****here.biz
Emagineservers.com

because my idea is to create a Reselller account at JH.

setting the billing and contact details to my addresses

and setting the server alias and CP Url to the clients set values

thus i pay for the account and he uses it.

the only issue i have found is the billing

i have found 2 ways to over come this

  1. create him a Account under my reseller account and add debit monthlys etc when required (used for billking)

OR

  1. i have a secondary CP (emaginecontrol.com)

i add a billing mondule to the CP where his billing is done though that.

basiclly i wanted to know if

the end user admin account is annomonous apart from m****here.biz but thats ok (nop refrance to JH)

any comments are welcome

i am aware of the athalite program but would like to keep them under me.

or for a charge (not sure if feasable) would JH be able to create me a reseller plan with my billing entries (Paypal for them to debit to)( i become a reselleer) and charge me though my reseller account i hold buyt thats another option

The only thing that I see being a problem is the main control panel. The billing,support points to Jodo. If you don’t use the main panel and only give client their admin panel, they won’t know details on thier account (i.e. space used etc.).

I have also been trying to figure a way to do this as well for a long time, without having to buy my own servers at the present time. I asked Jodo a while back if this was possible, I don’t think it is and have Jodo out of the picture from clients.

Not sure if another main panel can given to us, without Jodo paths in it, not exactly sure how the main panel works since I never admin with it. Maybe a seperate panel can be installed just for resellers?

I was going to use VPS windows to try to resell, but I don’t like the memory limits, I don’t think its enough to use VPS to resell, and Plesk I don’t know much about.

Hopefully we can figure something out.. 8)

yea,

from what i can see the end user reseller account is annomonous

i see that the top level reseller account isnt (cp.m****here.biz) and you have the billing details that need setting for my billing terms/settuings

the real issue would be with the account usages etc and billing system

i can create a asp based billing module for my APP (EmagineControl) and use a scheduled task

the usage i can get into the EmagineControl i think using the API

shame they dont have the api to get billing info.

i couild use a shared/ CP account on my rreseller account for billing

from what i heard off a mate, psoft are working on a multi reseller level, anyone heard this

I heard Psoft was working on this over a year ago, heard nothing more about it and have been following it in their forum, seems like a dead issue not sure.

They never put much effort into it and at this time I think it is wise they have many other more important things.

There has been a mockup of a “easy reseller setup wizard” so the setup process for a new reseller is not so complex, up to this point it has not come to fruitation, but with “3.0” they are getting closer.
