Not sure if this should be in customer only or reseller support, so feel free to move if I guessed wrong.
I’m curious to figure out what exactly anniversary billing will do. We have monthly and yearly hosting accounts. We also have products that we manually put in billing for, such as development, ssl certs, domain registrations, etc.. Right now I have credit limit based billing, but we’ve heard some grumbling that customers are getting emailed a bill as soon as we enter a new service billing to their account. So a few questions come to mind:
-
What is their anniversary date? Is it from the date of sign-up?
-
Let’s say they get charge the yearly hosting fee on 2-1-09 (which they paid right away), and then I put in a development charge on 5-15-09. When would they be notified of the 5-15-09 charge? My hope is that it would be on 6-1-09. If that is correct, would all charges be added together during May and be billed on 6-1-09?
-
What are the ramifications of switching from credit limit based to anniversary based?
-
Is there anything else that I’m missing?
Thanks,
-Ben
