anyone else with email issues?

the reason that this took so long was because we got one of those “stupid” morning hour techs at Level3 who didnt have a clue on what to do.

I am so disgusted with this… We are going through our options with the NOC on moving critical IPs to another IP block with InterNap or another ISP

If this moving of IPs is going to cause some interruption in the mail service, try to do that on a weekend.

You usually make these kind of changes during the week and still worse, during the morning (EST) which is not appropriate at all.

No.. IP changes are fully automated and are done without any disruption

Yash, it’s not a problem, but I note that email sent by my forum scripts (on win5), such as forum post notifications are dated as two hours ahead. My forum is functioning fine, just the emails being sent out have this issue.

Nathan

same here, except on many of the email accounts, not only web-based

The time on the mailserver is correct, the time on the server this forum is on however was not, we corrected that.

This post might end up in front of my previous post.

The rDNS issue was not from a mail server change, just a problem with the rDNS delegation system from what I understand.

I will check on the mail server time issue shortly.

Edit: this post was actually before the last post, but the time on the forum server was corrected by about 10 minutes.

That doesnt explain whyy OTHER emails, not from this forum are coming in with a wrong time.

its now 6:29 (GMT+2) and i have emails in my box from 6:50 (that i got an hour ago!)

and this is only since the mail issue.

Are you sure it wasn’t the senders time that was wrong?

The sender is the typical datestamp, I am sure you have seen some of the spam from 1970.

yep, 100% sure. its from various senders too.

any time mismatches should be fixed

Just had to post to see if forum time now matches real time.

And it does! Yay!
