anyone else with email issues?

me and some clients cant seen to connect with Outlook.
not sure if webmail’s working.

thanks

Webmail is working.

POP3 traffic is clogged up right now. Network usage just shot upto 50mbps.. Either some sort of attack or some serious abuse going on.. We are on it

Increase your timeout in Outlook to 120 or 180 seconds. You’ll eventually connect.

There is just some bad delay

doesnt work for me.

pls let us know whats going on.

I’ve set it to 5 mins but nothing changed …

Are we loosing any mail in this time of attack or anything else 'cause I’m waiting an important confirmation mail from a dealer …

Its actually 240 seconds.

Level3 has screwed up Reverse DNS again:
DomainHelp by easyDNS (formerly easyWhois)

Our IP is not returning rDNS. It was returning rDNS only 30 minutes ago!!

We are on the phone with Level3. This is really the last straw and we are going to be dumping important Level3 IPs for another ISP

its about time…

I can not connect from my domains to POP and SMTP server. Now my webmail doesn’t work 8o

As I said.. rDNS is no longer being served by Level3. We are taking with Level3…

Will be fixed shortly…

Level3’s DNS team is checking it out and are going to call us up shortly…

I thing you must public this on “Network Outages and Updates” forum

I thought Jodohost had multiple Tier 1 connections (Level3, Global Crossing, XO) - does email only run on Level3’s system?

From the “Why use Jodohost” page:

Superior Network
The facility uses CISCO-only routers and switches setup for redundancy and reliability. We are connected by 3 major tier-1 providers (Level3, Global Crossing and XO) which ensures 100% network reliability. This translates into faster downloads and better reliability for our customers

good point.

also - update us pls.

We definately do.
Let me explain.

Any hosting provider gets their IPs from one or several ISPs. We had chosen Level3. Now Level3 is also incharge of all reverse DNS records for their IP addresses. Whenever anyone runs a rDNS check on 63.209.158.6, it is suppose to point back to mail.m****here.biz

Now it seems recently, they have been having major issues with their rDNS system.. or having issues just with our IP address. Hence these issues.

If Level3 went down, we would not go down since Level3 would continue to broadcast our IP addresses for our other tier-1 providers to pick up on. But if Level3 messed up with rDNS.. the other providers cant do anything.

This is ridiculous.. I know.. trust me.. I am very very mad and Im doing everything to get this resolved ASAP

I doubt anybody questions your dedication, Yash, and we appreciate your quick efforts to try to resolve this. We just appreciate a full explanation so we can talk to our customers. All the customer knows is that they cannot get emails, and it isn’t the first time. I sure hope Level3 works as hard as Jodohost does to resolve issues.

I understand. This is ridiculous, I know.

Its funny why so many unrelated mail server issues have to strike us in such a short period of time.

We’ll switch over to InterNap IPs after this..

Can I assume that this problem is causing all incoming mesages to be bounced back to the sender?

Technically it should not cause any bounces.. And the sending mail server normally retries for upto 3 hours.

Another 10 more minutes.. Almost fixed accordnig to Level3

Any chance this will be resolved shortly? Will imcoming emails be lost during this outage?

Issue resolved
