AT&T blocking Web14

Looks like AT&T is at it again…started receiving text messages from clients that their sites were down about three hours ago.

Just checked through a bunch and it looks like AT&T is blocking Web14 again (so far 16,15,and 13 are fine)

Tracing route to web14.vdghosting.net [173.0.129.55]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms home [192.168.1.254]
2 26 ms 25 ms 25 ms xxx
3 28 ms 27 ms 29 ms 70.159.210.122
4 28 ms 27 ms 27 ms 70.159.210.119
5 28 ms 27 ms 27 ms 12.81.32.148
6 53 ms 25 ms 25 ms 12.81.32.43
7 * * * Request timed out.

We have receive your ticket and already working on it.

Thanks!
Hopefully AT&T doesn’t add servers to their black list faster than you can remove them!

Our only way to know if they are blocked is from clients unfortunately, unlike mail services with mostly public searchable records. I got your tweet and sent it in to them to check.

I setup CloudFlare for one client who was being REALLY vocal about the interruption - that worked really well!
They also have been yelling at AT&T for their ridiculous procedure - maybe somebody will take note and realize their abuse policies need a little more thought!

I just double checked and it’s still blocked on AT&T…I won’t be able to check again for several hours.

Cloudflare is good for that, it stops a FEW of the random hackings via url exploits as well (but not all, only those that hit and cause most damage to get an attack profile)

Still no luck on Web14 - TraceRoute still dies after 12.81.32.43.

Looks like it’s time to setup more CloudFlares!

We are still working with ATT on it our side now, trying to get more details to figure out what in the world they are blocking.

Wow these geniuses at ATT we can’t even mail them anymore:
The recipient’s mailbox is full and can’t accept messages now. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly.

Now it has been fixed. ATT has unblocked Web14 IP.

Just checked it - thanks a lot!!!
