I have a Windows VPS and looking for some kind of web based software to use for hosting sign ups. Right now I use a PHP form that the client has to fill out then they are sent to a page to pay via PayPal.
I am looking for something to simply the sign up process so hopefully I get new signs ups.
I looked around the Web Hosting Talk forum and a lot of people recommended WHMCS. Has anyone here used it or knows of something better to use?
As I see they offer helpdesk built-in, so can just be good with their hosted version. This way you don’t go offline completely for your users if your VPS is seeing an issue. Once you start paying them enough a month to buy another VPS, you will have a much better choice
It also depends on your company policy if you wish to store your/your client’s data on their servers, and if it is worth it for your current and intended customer base.
After I bought the leased license you have to host the info on your own server. They don’t host anything. I got it installed but am seeing problems with sending emails from it. Not sure if I need to activate the cron job or if hmailserver is blocking it from sending emails.
I found out the billing email address I created wouldn’t send emails because it was not authenticating correctly I guess. I had to put in my personal email for it and it works fine. So not really sure what’s going on.
I have had nothing but issues with ClientExec, the upgrades always fail, got to wait for 30 mins up to 2 days for their support to respond and so on. There support is great but downtime = no income, as you guys know.
Should I ditch ClientExec and go with WHMCS or something else?
