I just realised something, after doing a Google on my company name, which is the same as my domain name…
I’ve posted here on Jodo forums several times with the URLs from my own domain for testing or opinions, and same with a couple of clients’ domains.
The problem is, I now realise it all appears in Google searches, leading back here to the forums. You may not want clients to see their own domains or sites being discussed - as innocent and technical as it may be, THEY also have clients as well, who may see the domain appear here, and it all becomes a bit messy.
The issue is that the Customer Support area here is public and open to search engine crawls. I’ve found links on Google related to my reseller domain that link straight here to the Reseller Support forum. Do I want clients to see that when they Google my business name, see what my user name is and find all the other posts I’ve made?
Innocuous as it is, it’s something I don’t want to have to think about every time I post here.
So, either Jodo makes these customer support forums members-only (ie. not public) or we should all be careful of posting client URLs here, as it will come up when people google them.
… or am the only one who hasn’t twigged this until now?
Page down to the section " Top outgoing domains for jodohost.com" - two of my domains appear there, because I posted them here. Not sure what Boardreader’s purpose is, but it gets damn good google ranks.
I’m often tempted to do that to Google for custom searches.. I imagine lots of people try, I wonder if they get cease-and-desist-ed?

Thanks for moving the topics. I was thinking of you too… now Google can’t see I got miffed over the download speeds. In fact, neither of threads really got resoved… 10746 was an interesting one, demonstrating non-asynchronous “AJAX” calls on a server. Why do I always get the crazy inexplicable problems?
