I just had a wierd visitor from Russia hit my site, the referer came from my control panel. How could they get into my control panel. I have put a ticket in for this with the IP Number. 8)
Google is most likely how they found your control panel and then browsed to your site from the control panel.
People are continually looking for “non billed” accounts to make for their spam, or other video/game/warez download offerings. We have had to send many resellers notices that we disabled their service plan, or other non billing plan for signup because of this abuse.
I know that another other hosting company is suggesting that their users turn off automatic signup for just this reason and also to allow you to verify payment. This way you decide if the person looks ok before approving.
It appears that some jerks are signing up for free plans and spamming like crazy until they get caught and the plans shut down.
Its a pain but maybe necessary.
Is this a possible reason for the email spam problem here? I know the hosting company that has this policy does not have a spamming problem.
Also you don’t need google to find the control panel isn’t usually cp.yoursite.com ?

we turn off the non bill accounts pretty quickly when we see them, we also have noted on steps to prevent fraud to turn them off.
