My clients and I are experiencing blocked email from several ISPs. It appears I’m using mail5. Anyone have a fix for this?
Please don’t tell me to go to all those ISPs and try to get them to white list all my clients. This is not an appropriate solution to the scale of this problem.
I have checked and mail5 is only on one blocklist, and it has been the case for many months we have been trying to get de-listed. It has been something we can not prevent because they are blocking over 4090 IP addresses and unwilling to block only the IP(s) that were spamming, which was in no way a server of ours.
We have been in contact and working on it for a long time, but it is nothing new, and quite rarly used listings.
These are just the ones I could find in my saved email. Your help desk no longer saves closed tickets, so I could not pull them from this history there. Sorry I could not provide a complete list. I’m surprised you don’t have these records on your end.
KNS-38413-712 is already being discussed in your other thread.
FGM-12015-161 appears to be someone’s personal sonicwall based setup. Please try again as i couldn’t find any issue in SMTP connection in my test.
BHR-64533-234 - isn’t related to blacklisting.
AMT-94375-655 - isn’t related to blacklisting.
IPR-13265-510 - isn’t related to blacklisting.
CHP-40185-634 - isn’t related to blacklisting.
AEK-40059-670 - isn’t related to blacklisting.
Whatever you wish to call it, the problem remains that the email is blocked by something and cannot get through to the destination. The support people at the destination point to my email servers as the problem. You point to their email servers as the problem. I don’t really care who is the problem. I have no control over the various destination services, but I should have some control over the services I am paying for. I cannot believe that there is no solution for this problem on my end.
Exodus, no one governs the internet. If someone doesn’t like what is “inside” your email, none can let it pass unless the recepient wants it to. If this is a case of IP blacklisting, we will assist. If this is a case of content based /domain blacklisting (i guess we are talking about your issue in other thread), we can only give ideas, but solution can only be given by the one who has set the rules (the recepient).
We just need to understand from him what is needed to get the emails passed through their mailserver. Please don’t club all mail delay/IP blacklisting issues with this problem, or you will not get my point.
The email’s content doesn’t seem to matter. We have tested with plain text, html, with attachments, without attachments, blank subjects, blank body, … the recipient ISP can only say that we’re hitting their filter and they blame the problem on the source, my email servers.
I had another issue reported this morning from a client who claims to have sent an email from one address in their account to another in that same account. The email never showed up. My tests showed that emails arriving, but delayed about 10 minutes. I submitted a ticket on this … which I hate to do. I don’t want to overburden the system with tickets all relating to same problems. What do you suggest? Add this information to already open tickets?
Can you please forward me their response. Maybe that gives a hint.
Probably you were hit by dspam2 delay. Please see there is already a post about it. You can post to a relevant old ticket or create a new one. Normally we post about known issues in outages section of forum, so you can always check there before creating a ticket.
Pine Ridge I can send mail to them, but their mail to me and my clients does not get through. Here is their reply:
I sent the error message in my last reply. Something on your end is causing the problem. We have no issues with anyone other than the Argus and you.
Zillges we send email to them, but their email to us doesn’t go through. Here is the reply from their email server host:
The message you were sending to zillges.com contained a link/host that
point to IP addresses that had a previous problem, but something that I
could conditionally clear. In addition, I whitelisted anyone at your
domain to be able to reach anyone at their domain. Please feel free to
contact me should you have any further difficulties.
Pearlwin she can send email to me, but my emails to her bounce back:
Messages originating from your email address(es) are being refused by our servers. Contact your system administrator.
Here’s another odd thing. I can receive email from Zillges, but my client cannot. I have contact the tech support person who originally responded several more times to let him know that the problem persists, but I get no reply.
Can you tell me a ticket# where i can find their sender email and do they have emailed your domain in past 3-4 days?
This is a content based filtering. I guess it can be considered resolved since they said they white-listed this URL(/IP is points to) being used in your mail.
This is certainly not a bounce from our mailserver. Probably a different and unrelated issue here. If you can get the bounce message with headers I can try to understand the situation.
ok. let me know the sender email, recipient email that works (that is your email) and the recipient email that doesn’t works(that is your client email). Also please get a test email send to both your and your client’s email address.
I’ll lookup in logs to see what’s going on here.

due to nature of headers here, I am noving this to Customer only section, you had not asked to be approved there yet but I know you are a client as I have spoken to you on tickets, WHT, and here.
Was this ever resolved? I have been experiencing similar problems with one of my clients. Emails being sent to Rogers and Hotmail are marked as junk or bulk. After a great deal of testing I have determined that the problem is when there are sent from any of the webmail clients available. If the email account is used from outlook using mail.domain.com everything is fine.
I’m not sure if this is a problem with something in the headers from the webmail clients specifically, or could it perhaps be in regards to the server the webmail clients us? (webmail01.m****here.biz ([64.187.103.185])) Any feedback would be appreciated.
