This morning I received 2 new hosting signups from Gim & Mark of South Africa. My Merchant has denied both cards because they are invalid or the address doesn’t match the zip code. I have placed both accounts on fraud in ClientExec. The account address are the same, domain is the same, but they put different names on the accounts and credit cards.
Any advice on how I can better verify orders?
MaxMind is quite good, but not perfect.
We also voice verify all orders, worth considering if you have a cheap VOIP line for international calls.
The payment gateway I use verifies all payments against Maxmind.
I don’t have VOIP or international calling.
I think I’m going to see if there is a way to only accept orders from certain countries through ClientExec and that might filter out some of the bogus sign ups.
I did more research and the domain they tried to sign up with is located in British Columbia and has nothing to do with South Africa.
