I just started a new cp account for a customer and their e-mail was blocked by verizon.net. I asked support to take care of it and they said that they knew about the issue. IP: 204.14.108.244
Question: Why are new cp accounts being assigned to mailservers with blacklisting problems? This is an unacceptable practice, “Hi, welcome… and by the way you won’t be able to send e-mail because you are blacklisted” - that isn’t a good way to run a business.
Question: What specific steps are being taken (besides waiting for verizon to reply) to fix this issue?
Question: can you move my customer’s e-mail to a server that isn’t blacklisted by verizon.net?
I asked similar quesitons of support and haven’t received a reply - so I’m taking it to the forum.
RS #BJT-86045-549. I believe this tells you everything you are asking for (although the I’ll just send another reply to the ticket to make sure you have everything you need)… thanks.
New account – is that mail7? That has DSPAM, right? I was hoping that some of these issues would start going away once we had a good control on SPAM going through the forwards and whatnot.
Stephen, or others, here is my question right now:
What is occurring to get us blacklisted? Do we know? Is it we are in net blocks that have issues, is it SPAM forwarding, is it actual SPAMMING, or is it a combination, somehow, of the three.
Perhaps we, as collective retailers, as well as JODO staff, can put our heads together and fix this problem. Options should be made known and discussed, pros and cons. Is it feasible for us to buy a complete net block (I am a programmer, not a network guy, so if that is a stupid question just let me know)? Should JODO prevent localhost emailing?
I do not see an entity to blame here – I don’t think anyone has done anything wrong. But I do, however, believe we are all responsible, collectively to find a reasonable solution.
This is mail7, and it is simply a case of verizon being downright stupid saying this is a dynamically assigned ip address.
It has ZERO to do with spam, spam complaints, etc, its all about Verizon not having a system admin team that can tell that it is static IP, and we are out own ISP, just email us and ask if its dynamic if thats the case, they don’t take time to do this, they just reply with the same thing over and over.
