I just received two calls from clients complaining that they are getting SMTP errors with mail sitting in their send box that won’t go! As I was speaking to them, I received the same error in my email client. It appears that this SMTP mail server is down. Is anyone else on mail3 experiencing this problem?
Anybody?
Several of my customers and myself are continuing to receive the following Error Message when trying to “send” email.
I was in the process of sending a simple test email to one of my clients to see if she would receive it. All I did was open an email, type in her address, wrote “test” in the subject line and tried sending it. This is the error I received:
Server Response: ‘552 Sorry, this message appears to be spam (#5.6.0)’. (Account:‘', SMTP Server:'mail3.****.com’, Error Number: 0x800ccc6d).
Several of my clients are experiencing the same error whenever they try to send a regular email. Why is this happening? Can anyone help me with this problem?
I have already submitted support ticket #: DKR-86942-261
Never mind… the problem has just corrected itself and all mail that was sitting in my outbox just finally went out. It was sitting there for almost an hour! The error messages finally went away.
I am going to check with my clients to see if they are still having this problem. Hopefully not!
I don’t know where or how this all started from but I wish I knew! It just came up out of nowhere!
Thanks anyway.
Hmm, we’ll check that out. I’m guessing some of your clients email ran into a spam filter there. I’ll make sure your ticket is responded to with a technical answer.
Yours seems to be the only ticket reporting any such issue atm. We will check it out however
Thanks Yash,
I haven’t had any more trouble like I did earlier. It must have to do with the fact that I set all of the spam filters to max a couple of weeks ago. At least I think it has to do with that. Not sure.?(
I just start to get a little worried when the phone starts ringing, if you know what I mean.
One of my clients is again having trouble with this same problem today. Except this time, she is getting error messages on incoming mail as well.
I have gone over her email setup with her to ensure that all is correct, and it is! So, I can’t find out what the problem is.?(
can you describe the errors she is getting, and the time frame she gets them in
Yash,
She did not send me the error message that she received on incoming mail, but she gave me this one for outgoing mail:
Server Response: ‘552 Sorry, this message appears to be spam (#5.6.0)’. (Account:‘', SMTP Server:'mail3.****.com’, Error Number: 0x800ccc6d).
She called me at about 1PM Central Time today and said that yesterday, the problem seemed to correct itself. But at about 1PM today, it started up again.
She also said that the error report told her to contact her admin at her host.
Is it still happening? Thats a very strange error. I’ll make sure tanmaya looks into this and gets back to you. I am not seeing reports of this error
The last time I spoke to her was at 1pm. After this issue seemed to resolve itself yesterday, I was relieved and thought it was just a fluke. When she contacted me again today, I started to get a little worried.
This particular client has been with me for a long time. I have never received a complaint from them before, so I believe her when she says that it is happening.
Please ask her to whitelist sender email in control panel and test again with exact message that was being sent earlier.
tanmaya,
Is there a “general” way to whitelist sender mail (all sender email) or does she have to whitelist just the address she was trying to send?
Also, she is still getting error messages on incoming email too!
Thanks!
Is this only one user complaining?
Can you send in a ticket with their IP, the email they are trying to send, and the errors being received on incoming/outgoing.
OK Yash…
Give me a little bit here to gather all of that info from them. My phones are going crazy right now!
Not just with complainers - sales too! ![]()
PS: Yash, I was having this same problem with my email the other day, but it cleared up on its own the same day. I have another client with spam and blacklisting problems (unrelated to this issue). I am trying to setup custom MX records with them and their ISP to have their mail go to an external mail server. I am having problems with that one too because we don’t know if their ISP can make it work on their end. Another issue for later today! Gotta go!
Hi Yash,
Thankfully, this problem has been resolved! I had to walk her through a big long procedure and finally it was revealed that she was seeing the Outlook processing screen where it shows two tabs (tasks/errors). She was seeing the “errors” screen and was thinking that it was giving her one. When I told her to click on the errors tab - it showed no error!
I apologize for assuming that this was a problem with the server. Obviously, she did not know how to read that box and so it was simply an error on her part.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and thanks again for your help!
OK, good to see its resolved
