cerberus helpdesk - what a joke

Hi,

Why we have to wait more than 1 hour just to show the support ticket at cerberus and one more hour just to enable asp.net 2.0 - it takes 2 hours for such a simple thing. 90% of my support ticket are for:
changing asp.net version
creting a virtual directory
DBO permissions
ataching detaching a mssql database
All these thing could be done by end customer or by us - resellers if you have a good control panel - HELM ot Hsphere 2.5

support is usually pretty good, and whenever i submit a ticket it shows up instantly in the helpdesk… not sure why yours wouldn’t be showing up right away.

yes, there are times when the tickets shows up instantly and the support is very good - I think this happens when it is daytime in USA

BUDDHISM FORUMS

Mine always takes an hour or so as well to show up on Cerberus when I post from Cerberus. I have been told that just sending an email is faster. I am not sure why that would be.

I always end up just going to live chat if it is something that needs to be done relatively quick. Of, course, then I have to not use Firefox…

I want to clear something up here, you say upgrading to 2.5 would fix this what would it fix?
changing asp.net version ← nope only 3.0 supports, it is one reason we want to skip 2.5 fully

creting a virtual directory<-- no hsphere supports, despite MANY requests for such feature, even in person to Igor

DBO permissions ← Nope none supports this, Psoft is stubborn and refuses, yes flatly REFUSES to do this despite me arguing for it for years now. They always say “but this means customers can change their quota outside the CP”, and won’t budge.

ataching detaching a mssql database ← No Hsphere won’t do this in any version either.

Also regrding how long ti takes to show up, make sure the address on your reseller account and the proper address to reach you match, if they don’t match it won’t show up.

Oh one more thing I forgot to mention, the method psoft uses to switch asp.net versions downright stinks, and may cause us to continue with the ticket based changes for good, the reason for it is each time you enable/disable/add/remove a domain their developers got the bright idea that it should edit the server machine.config of the asp.net version, so each time any action is taken int he cp it restarts asp.net for ALL users!

So say we have a new server come online and 20 people add users to it the first day because we have some that do that, on the first day people are adding users, you will be lucky to have asp.net apps working at all, as they will be recompiling every new user added!

There are clients we have that have access to see this, that have access to psoft client area and can confirm me talking about this quite a lot on their internal forums.
