Is there a way to change the CP username for someone or do I have to recreate the site?

You need to wait to hear from someone at JH on this, but at one point I was told that the name could not be changed - I had to make a new account.

I read around and that was pretty much what I found, I’ve already started the process. Just wish I didn’t have to reupload everything again. Oh well.

You could ask support to transfer your files for you.

But unfortunately there is no mechanism available to change a username

You don’t have to reupload, you can zip the folder on the server and use WGET to fetch it from your old account to your new one.
