CNAME lookup failed temporarily. (#4.4.3)

I have had a ticket in for 3 months now with no resolution (FKU-86709-275) and I doubt that my client is the only one who is having this problem. Has anyone else had a similar problem and found a work around?

When sending mail to specific domains, my client receives a bounce:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail4.m****here.biz.
I’m afraid I wasn’t able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I’ve given up. Sorry it didn’t work out.

<receiver@receiving_domain>:
CNAME lookup failed temporarily. (#4.4.3)
I’m not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

As the affected domains are those of businesses belonging to a group of companies to which my client belongs, it is causing a major headache. The other companies and the group headquarters are hosted on a non-Jodo server - my client is the only member of the group using JodoHost.

As far as I can ascertain, it is only mail sent via JodoHost mail servers (mail4 & mail5 specifically) that have this problem.

One solution I had contemplated, was to use the client’s ISP SMTP server to send email. Unfortunately the client works regularly at several different locations - each using a different ISP, none using authentication - so this is not a practical solution. The client is only interested in using Outlook, so solutions that do not involve Outlook are not on (web-mail for example). Any suggestions?

Hum this is a new one to me.

Perhaps that’s why it hasn’t been resolved

Please let me know if it works fine under new configuration. If it works, the issue certainly is something not documented anywhere, and not relates to patch you have mentioned.

It’s 9:40pm here at the moment and tomorrow (Monday) is a public holiday, so it is likely to be 36 hours before I know the results.

Thanks for sticking with it Tanmaya. The reason for posting here was in case someone had found a workaround, not necessarily a fix
