Hello,

I see that you will be upgrading a server to coldfusion mx7 soon… if I signed up for a reseller plan now would the server fees go up? (I would like to be on the coldfusion mx7 server)

Also I would need an Application.cfm to be in the root directory of each domain (between the http and the https directories), I submit a support ticket with my current host and they do this for me… is this something you would be willing to do also? (it is just for some session handling nothing more)

  2. User can simply upload his application.cfm to the domain root. Not need for separate http or https folder. No need to create ticket.

Serge, the “SSL and non SSL” are typically the same thing in the same places.

I thought I saw the info I was after but it seems that the CF plan is a shared hosting plan correct? so there would be no way I would have root access to that which is why I asked if you guys could place the App file there for me… I think we are getting somethings mixed up here…

Yes it is shared, but it is on windows, so there is no root access anyway, can you describe what you are needing a bit for an idea of what we would need to support in more detail?

My ecommerce software needs to share the same sessions with both the SSL and non-SSL directories in order for this to be posible I need to place an Application.cfm file in between the two which then relays the sessions variables. My current host does this for me everytime I setup a new account as the Application.cfm is always the same for the same software.

That should eb the same as here by default, since it would be in the same place, but I will let one of the Cf customers chime in.

SSL and non-SSL Directories are the same, it is all on the same server, in the same account. The ports used are different and the browser - server connection is encripted or it is not, but the files and directories are the same. Your application.cfm file(s) placed below the webroot will be run either way.

What is your ecommerce software?

Get a shared account on a trial basis and use the shared SSL, then try it out.

O.K. that’s all I wanted to know, as long as I am able to place the Application.cfm file below the webroot I’ll be O.K.

I’ll go ahead and get the LiteHost plan and test it out.
