This is ridiculous. For the last few weeks all of my sites are lagging badly at times, or not found at all for a bit… The control panel is lagging or doesn’t load completely at all. The only reliable server I have seen has been the one this forum is on.
I have had mail problems that started when you installed dspam where a common working classifieds program (rapid classified) will not send emails anymore from any of the possible installed scripts. You finally admitted it was actually a problem there and did something where it worked for a few hours and then it quit again. You changed my email server to cure the problem and it still does not work and I cant log into the CP to even tell you that it still doesn’t send mails.
I moved back here because I was assured these kind of messes were rare now. Can you please fix these problems.
I still cannot load the CP so I can even see if they will send to another jodo hosted mail account…
I know some of your sites and they are loading really quickly. not lagging at all. the comic site in less than 1.3 seconds total.
I don’t know about the mail issues you describe but we have many clients that send mail from scripts.
Dspam doesn’t filter outgoing mail, the control panel I use most of the day each day and it is loading properly as well.
I see why your cp is not loading very fast, the quota is not replying for your user and I am checking that now, all other portions of CP are running very speedily. (i logged into your CP and saw clicking FTP was slow getting quotas, making the page load slow)
Yes when they are loading they do so fine but this issue with lagging and not responding has become quite common lately. It is not real long lived before it is back up but it is happening way to often. I don’t know if someone is overloading the system with an application or what. This isn’t “yet” my big concern. I just hope they can find out if someone is abusing the resources accidentally, intentionally or otherwise and cure it.
My biggest concern is the fact that my classified program up and stopped working one day with no alteration on it’s part. I have been dealing with it for quite some time now with no resolution. The program uses one of many selectable options to send emails for verification, reply and lost password activities and all worked fine before. Right now no one gets a verification email, they get no resends of a verification email nor a password recovery email.
I can’t get anything to load fast or at all this morning ion the CP. I was going to goof around with some various mails and see if I can figure out if its selective email problems or what with the classified.
that is because you are trying to use the rmeote mailserver without any authentication. I am making a new sample for you using CDOSYS with SMTP auth that will function. it will be the same url, the same filename with a 2 (before the asp extension) in about 10 minutes it will be ready.
I figured that would give the error. It will do me no good then because the classified script was coded by its creator and always worked before. I have no idea what would need to be done then. It works for everyone else and there are thousands of copies out there…
It always worked before with no authentication why would it need it now?
cdonts is the only one available to me with authentication. Why would aspemail, aspmail, jmail etc have stopped working?
they have not stopped working, they have not worked in the whole of the time you have been back without smtp auth.
you can use CDONTS on win18 if you like as well. The example I gave you was CDOSYS. aspemail works if you use 127.0.0.1 without auth, same for all the others, Authentication is needed for external remote mail servers like you had setup.
I still have the emails in my box where they did indeed work when I first set this back up with you guys. ( I started it new again) And a couple of people have since got it to work but very few. And I have another from when it worked for a few hours after they last fixed it.
I have no idea how to alter his coding. I did write that wrong a bit ago the auth was available on all those and not unavailable but was never set up. Where would I set up the authorization? Also you mentioned an example?
Odd because I have no clue where to find the coding for any of it and have done nothing short of changing between the types available recently to try and make it work.
I just got two of the test account activation mails from earlier about 9 hours after the fact. I still haven’t changed to authorized as I still have no answer as to where to set those settings. So obviously something is wrong somewhere since I am not supposed to be getting them as it was set up before but I am 9 ish hours later.
Again I ask where it is that I am supposed to set up authorization?
I dont have a clue, it is not an app I know anything about I just gave you a sample in raw ASP code, not in the app, I don’t know how to use the app at all.
